Entry Criteria

Embark on a journey to a career in film...

Entry Criteria

Although some knowledge or experience is an advantage, no previous training or experience is essential if you wish to enrol in one of our training programmes from the outset. However, the following entry criteria apply:

  1. You need to be committed to a career in the film and television industry.
  2. You must have a keen desire to undertake all aspects of the training programme in which you enrol and maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  3. At the time your training programme commences you must be 18 years or over.
  4. Your application documentation must be complete. You can obtain the documentation by calling us or going to the Fees & Enrolments section and filling out the form you will find there.
Mutual Recognition

AQF qualifications and/or Statements of Attainment issued by any other Australian RTO are recognised by the APA International Film School. The Academy reserves the right to verify the authenticity of such documents as required and to determine the currency of the units of competency indicated on the testamur.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)

Students who believe they already have the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate competency in certain areas of the training programme can request RPL/RCC. A charge applies for the processing of RPL assessments.

If you wish to apply for entry into one of the Academy's training programmes using RPL or mutual recognition, you should send an email to carole@apa.edu.au requesting this. You should give a list of relevant qualifications you have and a brief outline of the experience you have had to date. Information will then be emailed to you on how to proceed.
