Why the eBook Format?

It's amazing combination of features make it ideal for training purposes.

We believe that the eBook format suits today's students as it can use both video and text and it reduces the need to make notes and acts as a resource manual.

Text, movie clips, photographs, animations, diagrams...

We are now using iBooks Author to produce our books. It's a media rich interactive format which we feel is ideal for remote learning. We hope you will enjoy your training. As you will see we are able to use video content, text, photos, animations, diagrams and also interactive media. We make full use of the movie clips to show you plenty of close up and detailed information as well as take you through a particular process step by step. It's a great learning aid. You can play each movie as many times as you like and if you want to revise something at a later date it's so easy to find the movie clip you want.

If you are a very visual person you may not need text, but often a person can understand something perfectly as they watch it, and then afterwards find it very difficult to describe it or sum up what they have seen in words. This is where text comes into its own and is an ideal medium to recap essential information and add additional background knowledge.

We really like the fact that the eBook format has such excellent search and highlighting facilities which makes it an ideal portable instant reference manual.

If you want to see how the text, movie clips, diagrams, photographs and interactive pages work so well together as a training platform, just go to Apple's iBookstore and download a sample of The Lens and Its Image.
