19th March 2008 : News from 2007 Graduates
The last month has gone in a flash and it's hard to believe that our new students are now into their 5th week!
We have also had news from a lot of our 2007 graduates who we are featuring in crew shots this time. Ben has started with his TV channel, Ellinor is working in the camera department for a company in Sweden and Flo is very busy getting his documentary together. Having taken a large proportion of last year's graduates with him down to Victoria to shoot a short there, James is now Production Manager on a low budget feature here in Sydney. Andrew is also on the same shoot and we are waiting to hear more about it. Romila has an internship with Working Title and we hear Chris Bland is very busy freelancing. Bodin was successful in getting into uni and as far as we know Mitch is working for a TV channel. Going back a year or two Lyndall is now head Editor on a new TV series and Rohan is Production Manager. We hope to get more details when they have a spare moment.
7th February 2008 : Romance is in the Air !!!
It's official - Gordon and Anna are getting married in April ! It's so nice to have an "APA" wedding and quite a number of graduates will be travelling to Tasmania to attend it, so we will have lots of great photos for WATN early May. Specialising in Cinematography and Sound respectively, with excellent camera and production skills, Gordie and Anna will make a great team professionally as well as personally.
Other news has come through from Pedro (Spain) and he has sent us the poster for his documentary that has been shown by the national TV station and won awards. Ben , who graduated in December, has let us know he has a job in a TV station, and Roberto (Colombia) emailed to say that he has started his own production company which is doing very well. We will be putting full news up in WATN very shortly.
At APA itself, things are coming to life after the long summer break. Second year students returned this Monday and shot their first production today so it's off we go again for another exciting year !

If you have completed a Diploma of Screen or the equivalent, we have one opening each at the moment in our 2008 second year Advanced Diploma of Screen for anyone interested in Production Management, Editing or Sound Recording/Dubbing Editing. All other areas of specialisation are full, but if your first choice is Direction we can put you on a stand by list as there is a possiblility with a late change in specialisaton one position might become available.

20th December 2007 : Screening Night 2007
We had a wonderful Screening Night with a great selection of films. The food was fantastic - thank you Lucy and family - and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done, everyone for making it such a fabulous evening.
So it's all over for the year and time for everyone to have a well deserved rest from filming and for us to wish you all - students, cast, helpers, tutors alike - a joyous Christmas and a fantastic New Year.
We look forward to meeting you all again in 2008.
